Olympics Champion Elaine So Hot As She Shot To The World Lead In Rome

Reigning Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah now has the fastest time in the women’s 100 metres this year, after hrr sizzling 10.85 seconds on Thursday to win in Rome – the third stop on the Wanda Diamond League circuit.

In what was her first competition outside of Jamaica as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Thompson- Herah won unchallenged to signal that she is back to her best.

American Aleia Hobbs clocked a season’s best 11.12 for second place, while the Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josee Ta Lou took third place in 11.14 seconds, also a season’s best.The easy win for Thompson-Herah 

The easy win for Thompson-Herah saw her improve on  Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s 10.86 seconds, which was previously the fastest time, set at a local meet on August 22.
