In the men 60m, Micah Williams won gallantly in an impressive 6.49s. Nigerian Favour Ashe who had earlier won his heat in 6.55s opted out of the final inexplicable.
Earlier on, Nigerian duo of Mercy Umoobang and Anita Taviore could not make it to the final. Mercy ran 7.57s (19 position) while Anita ran 7.71s after 7.60s in qualifying.
