It was Ghana Benjamin Azamati that first started the good outing for African sprinters on the Friday night (28) display at Taxas open by taking home Olympics developmental 60m invitation in 6.64s.

The smoking Nigerian Rosemary Chukwuma continued her surge of form by winning the 60m in 7.09s, beating Kalic Jackson who returned 7.16s.

In the men 60m, Micah Williams won gallantly in an impressive 6.49s. Nigerian Favour Ashe who had earlier won his heat in 6.55s opted out of the final inexplicable.

Earlier on, Nigerian duo of Mercy Umoobang and Anita Taviore could not make it to the final. Mercy ran 7.57s (19 position) while Anita ran 7.71s after 7.60s in qualifying.
